Getting Ready for Your First Lesson
The program we use for online lessons is called Zoom. For your reference, it should take under 5 minutes to install it.
You’ll receive an email calendar invitation from info@ahighernote.com with your Zoom meeting’s link in it. You will need to save this, either by keeping it in your email inbox or going ahead and adding it to your calendar. (The action you would take to add it to your calendar: “accept” the calendar invitation and save it to your calendar.)
After the first time you launch Zoom, once you have the Zoom program installed and running on your computer, you will be able to launch the lesson in a few seconds from the email you received earlier, or from the calendar appointment you created.
If you would like to test ahead of time, you can click the link for your Zoom lesson. It will tell you that it’s not time for the meeting yet or that the organizer has not entered the room; however, look in the settings in the pop-up screen for the options for testing your system in preparation for your meeting.
